TUPRAS
Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri (Turkish Petroleum Refineries), also known as TÜPRAS, is the largest refining company refining company in Turkey and 7th largest in Europe. It is also one of the few refineries with a high complexity in the Mediterranean. The roots of Tüpraş go back to the Batman Refinery, which was established in 1955 to process domestic crude oil. The company also owns 80% of petroleum shipping company DITAS, and 40% of Opet Petrolcülük, which operates more than 1,800 gas stations in Turkey and holds a market share of about 20%.
