Third-Party CDP Ratings Help Cut Through the Noise
Robust customer data is the core of modern marketing, but merely having data isn’t enough. It’s also about the insights you glean from the data – and what you do with them.
A customer data platform (CDP) is a great tool to make sure you’re getting the most out of your data by integrating first-and-third party data, building ideal customer profiles, segmenting your audiences for targeted campaigns, and activating across any channel – or all of them.
But with the proliferation of these kinds of tools in today’s martech gold rush, how do you know which one is right for you?
One way is to see what the experts say. Forrester and The CDP Institute are two great sources to see how different CDPs stack up against each other when you’re looking to buy.
The Forrester New WaveTM: B2B Standalone CDPs, Q4 2021
This newly published report evaluated fourteen standalone B2B CDPs and details findings in ten criteria, like application integrations, identity resolution, decisioning, and more.
To be evaluated, a CDP must “create a separate, consistent store of account, contact, and buying group profiles that serve as the single source of truth for customers’ marketing and sales tech applications.” Forrester also looked for advanced analytics for audience building, reporting, and journey orchestration.
D&B Rev.Up ABX was one of the fourteen CDPs evaluated and earned a spot as one of the leaders and received the highest current offering score. It was also rated as “differentiated” in eight of the ten criteria evaluated.
The report noted that D&B Rev.Up offers strong functional capabilities across the board and that it “is a best fit for companies that need a comprehensive B2B-focused CDP.”

CDP Institute: RealCDP Certification
The CDP Institute audits CDPs on seventeen separate criteria and certifies the ones that qualify. The intent is to help companies reduce noise and confusion when they are evaluating CDP vendors by providing a checklist of what makes a CDP a CDP.
Some of the features on the certification checklist include:
- Ingesting data, maintaining, and storing data
- Unified customer profiles
- Privacy protections
- Real time data updates
- Analytics and reporting
- And more
D&B Rev.Up ABX received the RealCDP certification after being launched in May 2021, with feedback noting that the solution “goes a step beyond other B2B CDPs that support sales and marketing with third-party business data embedded in the platform.”
Here’s an overall summary from the report:
“D&B Rev.Up ABX combines a robust CDP engine with pre-integrated D&B data and advanced analytics to deliver a best-in-class OOTB B2B CDP solution. A well-designed intuitive interface enables most users to become self-reliant within a few weeks. Tight integration with leading CRM and MAP platforms delivers deeper insights and accelerates the performance of those platforms. Implementation times are relatively short compared to most CDP installations and the platform is priced to support clients of all sizes.”
Why Do These Ratings Matter?
With new offerings springing up all the time, it can be time-consuming to research a potential CDP purchase. These kinds of third-party reports and ratings can help you to quickly get to the real deal about a piece of technology.
Of course, we’re proud of D&B Rev.Up ABX and what it offers for modern revenue teams. But being named a B2B CDP leader in The Forrester New WaveTM and achieving the RealCDP certification shows, in our opinion, that you don’t just have to take our word for it.
