Our view on data protection

Bisnode's Data Guidelines

Every day, we manage large amounts of data. For us, it goes without saying that we treat all this information with the greatest respect. Data security and personal privacy are at least as important to us as they are to our clients. In our work, we therefore follow carefully outlined guidelines and routines. We use reliable systems and naturally, we follow the laws, rules and regulations in force in all our markets.

Our responsibility is to ensure the security of the information in our care and to maintain the privacy of consumers through appropriate, responsible use. The collection, use, retention, safeguarding and disclosures of personal data is regulated in our General Privacy Notice and internal Data Privacy Policy.

Security and data protection

We make every effort to ensure the highest confidentiality and security of your data. We take all necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure that our network, infrastructure and information systems are well protected. People only have access to your personal data if it is absolutely necessary. Personal data is treated with strict professional discretion in compliance with all technical requirements to ensure confidentiality. In addition, we prevent unauthorized people from accessing, processing, modifying or destroying your data. Finally, both raw and analyzed data are protected from corruption, throughout their lifecycle, through data protection, technology and IT security measures.

In case of data breaches

Sometimes unexpected things happen. To this end we have incident response plans in place. In the case of data breaches, which may entail risks to your privacy, both you and the Commission for the Protection of Privacy are notified in accordance with our legal obligations. In such an eventuality, we will make every effort to resolve the breach as quickly as possible and to limit the consequences.

Reducing risk through data minimization

No matter what business we are in, we are all suffering from data overload. We create too much, store too much and, most annoying of all, we cannot find a way to get rid of what we no longer need. Bisnode regularly practice data minimization, which limits the collection and retention of information to only what is essential for our business operations.

Handling credit information

We often interpret financial information for our clients. For security reasons, we have developed Bisnode ID and Bisnode Secure to give all our clients' users a personal login. This enables us to verify the identities of all persons handling credit information and minimize the risk of any unauthorized person gaining access to our clients' services and data. The combination of Bisnode ID and Bisnode Secure is called strong authentication and makes it easy for both our clients and us at Bisnode to ensure we handle data in a secure manner.
