Since 2015, Dun & Bradstreet has been a signatory of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest sustainability initiative. It was launched by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 2000 with the intention of bringing the UN and business closer in the work for a better world. Our sustainability work is based on the ten guiding principles concerning human rights, labor rights, environmental care, and anticorruption. As a participant of the UN Global Compact, Dun & Bradstreet supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

What is the UN Global Compact?
The United Nations Global Compact is a non-binding United Nations pact to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The UN Global Compact supports companies to:
- Do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption
- Take strategic action to advance the Sustainable Development Goals

The UN Global Compact supports companies to become more sustainable by setting ambitions that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Today, there are 17 SDGs that were decided upon commonly by world countries and various stakeholders – to be achieved by 2030. This is an essential job for us to help accomplish.
Dun & Bradstreet Contributes Directly or Indirectly to 12 of the 17 SDG’s
We work actively with all the Sustainable Development Goals that are applicable to our operations and they mainly involve: Employee Satisfaction & Health Programs, Code of Conduct & Group Policies (Anti-Corruption, Whistleblowing, Data Ethics, Corporate Governance, Anti-Sexual Harassment), Environment Initiatives, Cooperation with Social Initiative, Circular Economy Initiatives and Compliance with regulations – data security, protection, privacy, integrity.

We have specifically identified four goals that correspond with our internal sustainability work and where we believe we can make a positive contribution: SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 8 Decent Work, SDG 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 13 Climate Action.
