Q: How would you describe your role?
A: I am a Project Manager on the Global Data Research team. I co-manage the FDA DUNS Verified project, which involves overseeing World Wide Network (WWN) partners and a vendor who conducts phone and/or on-site facility verifications of companies around the globe that are registered with the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). My team and I also conduct research to confirm ownership identification of domestic tobacco retailers for the FDA Center for Tobacco Products (CTP).
Q: Please share a recent project you worked on that you were proud of.
A: I joined Dun & Bradstreet last year when the project I now co-manage was brand new. Initially, there was no set process in place. As the project and my training progressed, I became more knowledgeable about the requirements and process. This enabled me to create various job aids to document the reporting. The training documents had to be clear and direct, since global team members would leverage them to complete their business verification work. Fortunately, the job aids were a success. My team and I observed a dramatic improvement in report quality and accuracy.
Q: What’s the work culture like on your team?
A: My team provides a flexible and transparent work environment. New ideas are encouraged by leaders and team members who want to see me succeed. Since joining last year, I have learned many new, transferrable skills that help me excel each day. Here, if you put in the effort to get involved in various opportunities provided by your team and the company, there are endless ways to grow professionally and personally.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
A: I enjoy Bhangra, which is a form of music and dance that originated in the Northern regions of India, mainly Punjab and Pakistan. Today, the music and dance have evolved and can widely be seen in Urban and Bollywood pop culture. The music is upbeat and gives me a burst of energy. I also enjoy cooking healthy meals and making various kinds of smoothies and smoothie bowls. One of my favorite pastimes is going for walks at the trail with my husband all year round.
