Tate & Lyle is a major producer of specialty ingredients used by food manufacturers to improve their products' taste and nutritional properties, among other enhancements. Tate & Lyle's products include syrups and sweeteners, starches, stabilizers, texturants, and savory ingredients for use in drinks, dairy products, soups and sauces, pastries, confectionery, and human and animal nutrition. Key brands include Splenda, Promitor, Rezista, and Hamulsion. Despite being headquartered in London, Tate & Lyle generates about three-quarters of sales in the US, where it operates four large corn wet mills and a network of corn elevators. The Tate & Lyle name might be familiar to consumers as a sugar brand, but in fact Tate & Lyle-branded sugar has been manufactured by a third-party since 2010.
