Making money from private equity investments is music to the ears of Symphony Technology Group (STG). The firm invests in and builds enterprise software and technology services firms. STG's portfolio of more than 15 companies includes shopping search engine Shopzilla, MSC Software, Symphony Health Solutions, and global information services provider CoreOne. STG was founded in 2002 by former chairman and CEO Romesh Wadhwani, the man responsible for the landmark $9 billion Aspect Development deal, which was the largest merger in software history. It has more than $2 billion in assets under management. Altogether, STG's portfolio of companies log combined revenue of more than $2.7 billion.
