Photo-Me International (PMI) will make you a passport photo in a flash. The firm is best known as a maker and operator of photobooths that produce five-picture strips to be used in passports and other ID cards-- strips that serve as identification or as painful reminders of your exes or fading youth. PMI boasts nearly 27,000 photobooths that are found in shopping centers, train stations, and tourist areas in more than 15 countries around the world, including the UK, Ireland, and Japan. The company also uses its booths as digital printing kiosks and other photo-processing equipment, and offers kiddie rides and amusement machines as well. Company deputy chairman and CEO Serge Crasnianski owns more than 22% of the PMI.
