Electricity flows from Monongahela Power (Mon Power) just like the river the utility was named after. The company services approximately 388,000 residential and commercial customers in a service area of 13,000 sq. mi. in West Virginia. Mon Power, along with West Penn Power and Potomac Edison, comprise the Allegheny Power arm of Allegheny Energy, which is now part of FirstEnergy. In 2013 Mon Power owned or controlled 3,580 MW of generating capacity.
