You might say this company is taking a gamble on the casino and tourism industry in China's Macau. Melco Crown Entertainment operates two major casinos resorts: City of Dreams and the Altira Macau (formerly the Crown Macau), which include a number of restaurants, bars, and other visitor amenities. The company also has eight other gaming operations in Macau under the Mocha Clubs brand that primarily feature 1,369 gaming machines (10.4% of the total machine installation in the market). Australia's Crown Limited has a 40% stake in the company, while Melco International Development owns about a third of Melco Crown Entertainment. In 2013, Macau generated $45 billion of gaming revenues, up 19% on 2012.
