The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) strives to protect women's rights and improve women's quality of life around the world. It researches women's issues, advocates for policy development, and offers technical assistance to women in more than 40 countries. ICRW works to improve women's economic, health, and social status in developing nations around issues including HIV/AIDS, nutrition and food security, reproductive health, violence against women, and poverty reduction. The not-for-profit organization was formed in 1976 to help understand the role of women in developing nations.
