Impact of Hurricane Harvey


Dun & Bradstreet is closely monitoring the situation and analyzing the effect of Hurricane Harvey. As the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) identifies the specific counties that have been impacted by the hurricane, Dun & Bradstreet will provide a list of business entities located in the affected areas. Additional resources and information on the business impact of Hurricane Harvey is available on this site and will be updated regularly.

Business Impact of Hurricane Harvey

The State of Texas has experienced massive flooding, affecting both residents and businesses. Thousands of people, homes, and businesses have been impacted across multiple counties per reports from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and news agencies.

In addition, the State of Louisiana has declared a State of Emergency in anticipation of Harvey’s effects.

Potentially Impacted Counties in Texas

The latest impact assessment from FEMA, published September 6th, 2017, reports 39 affected counties in Texas including Aransas, Bee,  Brazoria,  Calhoun,  Chambers,  Colorado,  Fayette,  Fort Bend,  Galveston,  Goliad,  Hardin,  Harris,  Jackson,  Jasper,  Jefferson,  Karnes, Kleberg,  Liberty,  Matagorda,  Montgomery,  Newton,  Nueces,  Orange,  Polk,  Refugio,  Sabine,  San Jacinto,  San Patricio,  Tyler,  Victoria,  Walker,  Waller, and  Wharton.

D&B has identified approximately 561,830 potentially impacted businesses in those counties as listed below:

Potentially Impacted Counties in Louisiana

As of September 6th, 2017, FEMA has not identified affected Louisiana counties.

We will make available a downloadable list of companies located in the impacted areas once we have further information.

Economic Impact Analysis Dashboard

The economic impact analysis dashboard graphically displays the potential business, jobs, and sales impacts of Hurricane Harvey. It shows the counties designated by FEMA for disaster assistance. Counties under a State of Disaster were also included to reflect the potential scale of Hurricane Harvey’s impact.
