Supplier Risk Manager - Country Risk Module
Mitigate supplier operational risk with D&B country risk insights
Mitigate Supplier Operational Risk with D&B Country Risk Insights
Challenge: Key supplier markets endure devastating natural disasters, political unrest can result in overnight barriers to imports or added taxes to exports, and piracy interferes with key shipping lanes. These are risks you can't always plan for, and can be out of your – and your suppliers' – control. Couple this uncertainty with the drive many organizations have taken to cut costs and improve efficiencies by minimizing inventories, outsourcing, and sourcing from lower costs countries. The result? Today's supply chains are more fragile and vulnerable than ever and companies have a driving need to understand the political, economic and commercial risk landscape on the global stage.
Solution: D&B's Country Risk Module provides Country Risk Ratings and comprehensive political and economic analysis on 132 countries worldwide, to help you understand the markets you are either sourcing from, or are considering in the future.
Bottom line: It is necessary for supply management professionals to look beyond just their traditional supplier-centric models for managing supply chain risk. This requires integrated intelligence to understand what is happening in the world today, and even more importantly monitoring what is happening in the countries of your trading partners.
Evaluate the political, economic risk and commercial risk in a target market
Economic downturns, political unrest, and geophysical events all have an impact on the global trade environment. The Country Risk Module provides comprehensive analysis on 132 individual countries that account for over 95% of the global GDP, helping you understand:
- Political Risk - How stable is the country's government?
- Economic Risk - Is the economy expanding or contracting?
- External Risk - Is the currency stable or unstable?
- Commercial Risk - Will I get paid? How quickly will I get paid?
- Trade Environment - Have import regulations changed?
- Investment Environment - In which sectors can I safely invest?
Do you know which of your suppliers operate in countries deemed to be high risk? The Country Risk Module integrates your Supplier Risk Manager supply base with the Country Risk Indicator. An interactive global map quickly highlights global risk, and allows you to identify which of your suppliers are located in areas of interest.
